An Outstanding and Informative “Writers Night Out” November 16, 2011

by Artistic Director on November 17, 2011

The heavy rains of Wednesday evening November 16, did little to deter 48 members of the CCWC from attending the Writers Night Out meeting at the Resort & Conference Center of Hyannis, the future site of our August 5-10 annual conference. Judging from the members’ enthusiastic comments this session was one of our best.  Not only was the setting lovely and the food delicious, but the session’s two speakers fascinated and informed CCWC participants.

During the dinner hour, the first presenter was  Jay Gale, director of  Inkubate, a new publications program for writers to link directly with editors and agents. “The program is a kind of dating service for writers, ” Gale explained, ” It’s a way to break through the slush pile.”

The highlight of the evening was computer guru, Jennie Wiley, director of the West Dennis Library, whose fascinated the audience with her highly   informative  descriptions and screen presentation about the value of a digital presence for authors.

For still more detailed instructions, CCWC members can sign up for Jennie’s workshop at our 2012 summer conference.
