Writers Night Out Celebrates International Women’s Month with Nancy Rubin Stuart Experiences on Writing Women’s History

Nancy with mikeIt’s International Women’s Month and last night’s Writers Night Out was a real treat! We had spiritual charlatans, royal intrigue, traitors, lavish affairs, multiple marriages, and war-time travails as our Executive Director, Nancy Rubin Stuart,  spoke of her experiences writing women’s history. She is the author of in-depth biographies about Marjorie Merriweather Post, Queen Isabella of Spain, Mercy Otis Warren, the 19th Century Spiritualist Maggie Fox, and, coming out next month, the Defiant Brides of the Revolution: Mrs. Benedict Arnold and Mrs. Henry Knox.defiant-brides

While researching her subjects, Nancy found out a lot more than just information about these women’s lives; she also found a way to understand history. The eras these women lived in were tumultuous and the customs and mores of those times are eye-opening to us in today’s modern society.

Thank you, Nancy, for a great evening!
