Greg Hischak’s first collection of poems, Parts & Labor (2013)was published by Pond Road Press. His poems have appeared in The Atlanta Review, Mid-American Poetry Review, Third Coast and Cape Cod Poetry Review, among others. His play Crow Over Wheatfield was a 2008 Pushcart Prize nominee, and his play The Center of Gravity was the 2010 winner of the Clauder Prize for New England Playwrights. Greg is the co-host of A Salon of Shorts at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
Gwendolyn Jensen’s first book, Birthright (Birch Brook Press, 2011) is a letterpress edition, now in its second printing. Her poems have appeared in The Beloit Poetry Journal, Chautauqua, Salamander, Sanskrit and Measure. Gwen began writing poetry when she retired in 2001 from the presidency of Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA.
Margaret Young has published two poetry collections, Willow from the Willow (Cleveland State University Poetry Center) and Almond Town (Bright Hill Press). Her third collection, Night Blue has been a finalist and semifinalist for several awards. She has worked as an artist in residence in Pennsylvania and Ohio, earned a 2005 Individual Artist Grant from the Ohio Arts Council. Margaret teaches at Endicott College and lives in Beverly Massachusetts.
Directions: From Bourne Bridge. Rt. 28 south to Thomas Landers Road exit, right off ramp to Rt. 28A south (left), about 1 1/2 miles. Just past Old Dock Rd., on right, West Falmouth Library is on the left, with parking.
From Woods Hole. Woods Hole Rd. to Palmer Ave. to Rt. 28 north to Brick Kiln Rd. exit, left off the ramp to Rt. 28A (stop sign). Take a right, and go less than I mile. West Falmouth Library is on the right, with parking (before the library, across from the Quaker Meeting House).
Calliope Celebrates Falmouth Poet Laureate, Adelaide Cummings with a reading in her honor on Sunday, June 9th, 3 to 5 PM, West Falmouth Library. Other featured poets will be Martha’s Vineyard Poets Laureates: Justen Ahren, Steve Ewing, Lee McCormick, Fan Ogilvie. A themed open mic (readers select a US Poet Laureate’s poem to share) will end the afternoon.
