CCWC Celebrates the Holidays with Six-Word Contest December 11, 2013

by Artistic Director on December 14, 2013

What is a better way for writers to celebrate the holidays than to challenge themselves with a six-word story contest? That’s what we thought at the Cape Cod Writers Center. So, too, did the 40 members who arrived at Uno’s Chicago Grille in Haynnis on Wednesday, evening, December 11, 2013.

CCWC Holiday Party 2013

During cocktail hour, our members enjoyed purchasing books at our annual book sale. After a delicious buffet, the competition began. Twenty writers recited their six word stories after which the members voted for the two best. First place went to Susan Trausch and second place to Dwight Ritter, both of whom, quite coincidentally, are members of our board of directors.

Dwight left before his phot0 could be taken but here’s Susan posing happily with her book prize, a signed copy of Meg Wolitizer’s The Interestings.
