April 16, 2018 Writers Night Out Celebrates National Poetry Month

April may be “the  cruelest month, breeding. lilacs out of the dead land,” as poet T. S. Eliot wrote, but for those to attended  Writers Night Out on April 16th at the Cotuit Public Library, it was a pleasure.

That’s because the evening was a celebration of all things poetic. The meeting began with readings by five young poets from the Sandwich High School under the leadership of teacher Deborah Morris. After hearing their work poet-playwright and CCWC board member Judith Partelow read from her chapbooks  “A Woman’s Heart” and “Carry Me Back: A Woman’s Life in Poetry.”
