Young Writers Workshop
Every summer, CCWC hosts the Young Writers Workshop, a creative writing program for students ages 12-18 from the schools of Cape Cod and southern New England, during the week of our Annual Conference. Students are selected on a competitive basis, and those unable to pay are given a tuition-free scholarship.
This year the workshop will be held from August 3-7 at the Sturgis East High School in Hyannis. Three prominent author-teachers will work with students to improve their literary skills in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. 2015 faculty are novelist Scott Blagden, poet Gregory Hischak, and journalist James Kershner.
The Young Writers Workshop, now in its third decade, remains one of the highlights of the summer for talented local youth. Students have a chance to meet and form friendships with other writers from area schools as well as receive individual help and advice from published authors.
