On Saturday, March 21, 2015
the Cape Cod Writers Center proudly presents
a pair of workshops for writers and aspiring writers.
In this morning workshop, you will explore the benefits of self-editing and revising your work, learn how to switch from writer to editor, and look at some common errors even the best writers can make. Your instructor is freelance editor, travel columnist, and news and feature writer Ray Cormier, recently retired from 30 years writing and editing at The New York Times.
The afternoon’s instructor is Phoebe Baker Hyde, whose debut memoir, The Beauty Experiment, was named a 2013 “Book of Style” by The New York Times and featured in 16 major world newspapers. With the help of literary examples, in-class exercises, and group conversation you’ll work on finding your best story material; begin developing a complex and flexible authorial voice; and envision the whole of a readable (and writeable) book.
