During 2008, we have added over 100 new members to the Cape Cod Writers Center.
Consider this when you are investing in a membership; its value at $35 includes reaching a network of over 300 fellow writers. As the new executive director, I am still learning what our members want and making changes. I am receptive to your ideas, so please contact me, Anne Elizabeth Tom at director@capecodwriterscenter.org. We have just had a highly successful conference, and over the next few weeks, I will be debriefing with the board and a new conference committee. Servicing our members will be at the top of my list of priorities for 2009. Please join us in making an organization already benficial to members for over 46 years even more so.
NEW MARKETING AND PUBLICITY OPPORTUNITY FOR CCWC PATRON MEMBERS: LINK FROM OUR WEBSITE TO YOURS.
If you become a Patron ($100 annually), we will link your website to ours on the PATRONS page (going up in September) with a brief promotion.
REACH YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE!
Be a publicity-savvy writer. Promote your book or website to our members and the global market we have begun to reach on our new website!
We are reaching more writers and readers on and off
Cape Cod, especially younger ones, through our website and newsletter, Wavelength,
a clearinghouse for literary information and events.
We will be adding new features to it later this year,
such as book reviews by our members, and a column on
the craft of writing by former faculty.
We have added a new category of membership-- Student Membership, for students from age 12 to 21. There will be some restrictions on participation under the student membership. Ask at CCWC office for details. A few grandparents are purchasing these to encourage their writing grandchildren.
You should find that the PayPal feature (BELOW) will enable easier purchase of your CCWC membership,
and eventually for CCWC programs and the NEW CCWC products with new logo and color scheme. You will be able to register on-line
for our Pathways to Publications programs restarting the first weekend in November, 2008 with "A Weekend with the Agents."
Also, using the new CCWC logo and playing off its color scheme (the quill against a Cape Cod blue and sand backdrop), we had new, tasteful tote bags, tee shirts, and travel mugs designed and well-made, in time to sell at this summer's conference. We have a limited number left in each category, and will re-order if there is a demand.
If you did not attend the conference, you may still purchase these products from us by emailing in an order. We can send the totes and tee shirts out to you by mail easily, or you can pick them up at the office by arranging with us in advance. The travel mugs will have to be on a pick-up basis only for now, since we are not equipped for packaging them. Some of these items will be for sale at Breakfasts for the Authors in September and October also.
Please consider purchasing a few products to use in public to help us market the center, and buy some to give some to your writing friends for the holidays and other special occasions.
The tote bag is zippered and well-made of off-white, heavy canvas. It would make an excellent GREEN GROCERY BAG. The black travel mug has an oval insert with the logo in full color. The tee shirts come in navy and denim blue with the new logo on the left breast. They are all tastefully designed and made.
