Author C J Verburg.
A storyteller ever since she could talk, C J Verburg spent the 1990s collaborating on theatre projects with her Yarmouth Port neighbor, the late artist and writer Edward Gorey. Their friendship inspired her multimedia memoir Edward Gorey On Stage and her award-winning play Spin, or Twilight of the Bohemians. Her Edgar Rowdey Cape Cod mystery series, starting with the novels Croaked and Zapped, spun off from one of their “idées du jour” over lunch. A former editor and freelance writer for major publishers on both coasts, Verburg moved to San Francisco after Gorey’s death. She runs the Indie Publishers’ Working Group at the Mechanics’ Institute Library and is a member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Readers International. She’s just finished writing Gaudí Knight, a sequel to Silent Night Violent Night and Another Number for the Road in her international Cory Goodwin mystery series, which stars the Boston journalist daughter of New York private eye Archie Goodwin. She’s now working on an Edgar Rowdey Cape Cod mystery novella, The Toastrack Enigma.
