As every writer knows, the back story for a book is often as interesting as the printed work.
Never was that better exemplified than on Wednesday evening, October 18, at the Cape Cod Writers Center’s Annual Meeting at the Osterville Public Library when author/attorney Andrew MacLeer presented on his book,101 Habits of Highly Successful Novelists.
The thirty writers in the audience were fascinated as Andrew described how a chance meeting with an editor in a class he taught at Boston College led to an invitation to write the book. After he contacted dozens of authors, they shared their habits, goals and observations on the literary life to create that book.
As an attorney, Andrew has drawn upon his professional experience to write several mysteries/thrillers. The lesson? Write what you know and know what you write!
