A Great Opportunity for Young Writers

The Cape Cod Writers Center is now accepting applications for the next in our highly-acclaimed Tomorrow’s Writers Today program for young writers, to be held on Saturday, March 14 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Sturgis High School in Hyannis.TWT Writing Group Nov 2014

This fun-filled, inspiring, tuition-free workshop gives talented writers in grades 7 – 12 the rare opportunity to learn from successful professional authors and to hone their skills in both fiction and nonfiction.

Meet Our Faculty for March 14:

ReadeWhinnemPhoto candy photoTeaching Fiction: Reade Scott Whinnem is the author of two books for young readers, Utten and Plumley and The Pricker Boy. He currently teaches at the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

Teaching Nonfiction: Candace Hammond is a freelance journalist and author from Orleans who writes features for newspapers across the Cape. She is the author of a novel, The Best Worst Year, and co-writes the syndicated column “The Fix-it Sisters.”

The deadline to apply is March 2, 2015. Interested students may apply to the program by completing an application (available at the link below) and submitting it, along with a brief writing sample.
