CCWC Announces the Marion R. Vuilleumier Scholarships for Three Cape Cod Community College Students for the 2012 Conference
The Cape Cod Writers Center has awarded the Marion R. Vuilleumier Scholarships to three students from the Cape Cod Community College. The scholarships will enable them to attend classes free of charge at the CCWC’s 2012 conference at the Resort and Conference Center of Hyannis, August 5-10 .
First prize goes to Donna Clancy for a section of her novel, ” The Baby Factory.” Ms. Clancy of Brewster, the single mother of three children, has long dreamed of writing professionally.
First honorable mention awardee is Perry Joyce, for her memoir of her father ” A Small Pair.” Ms. Joyce is a native of Ireland who now lives on Martha’s Vineyard.
The second honorable mention prize winner is Mark Detlefsen for his biography of actor Henry Winkler. Mark, an IT specialist who previously worked at AT & T and IBM, lives in South Dennis.
