A Guide to Creating a Book Trailer (16 Sep 2026)

BOOK TRAILERS

You've seen them, been impressed by them, perhaps even bought the book because of them. Why? Because they're a powerful tool that makes readers want to learn more about that book.

So why not you? Why not learn more book trailers so that you can create your own.

The Cape Cod Writers Center is pleased to invite you to attend the September 16 Writers Night Out to hear Randy Ross present on how to create a book trailer. During his presentation he'll show two of his own book trailers as well as others.

Learn to use AI as a Tool for Your Writing (18 Nov 2026)

Learn to use AI as a Tool for Your Writing

Mention AI to the average person. Chances are they will shudder, claim it's dangerous or untrustworthy. However, as a writer you are not an average person and since AI is here to stay, it's critical that you learn to use it to enhance your writing.

That's why you're invited to our November 18th Writers Night Out when Aileen Marshall will share information about how AI can become your publishing friend rather than a foe.

Please bring your laptop to this Zoom session so that you can practice some of the skills Aileen will present.

Born in Germany, Aileen now lives in Columbia, MD where she works as a Director for AI & Emerging Technology for ICF by day and gym rat/novelist by night. She has two masters degrees, the first in English Linguistics, Political Science, and Comparative Literature from the University of Münster, the second from the University of South Carolina in Library & Information Science.

A fan of the Murderbot Diaries, the Old Man’s War universe and Donna Leon’s Brunetti mysteries, Aileen has been writing fiction and poems since high school. Her publications include professional articles, occasional blog posts and her 2024 book RIVERS OF THE MIND. (@cyndera)
