Author Michael Solomowitz.

Michael Solomowitz has enjoyed an eclectic writing career that has taken him from Brooklyn to Los Angeles to Long Island to Cape Cod.

His debut novel, BEHIND THE FOURTH WALL, will be published in January 2022. It is the story of a once-promising New York playwright who tragically loses his family and escapes to Cape Cod, where he will discover his own complicity in his family’s misfortunes. This spellbinding narrative, laced with hope and redemption, grapples with overcoming grief, second chances and, ultimately, the courage to face one’s darkest fears.

He is a Contributing Author for two non-fiction sports books including Baseball & The Sultan of Swat: Babe Ruth at 100 (AMS Press).

Mr. Solomowitz began his writing career as a scriptwriter for Manhattan Cable TV and has worked for Warner Bros. in Hollywood. For several years he was a freelance sports journalist and contributed dozens of articles to publications such as Legends Sports Memorabilia, Trading Cards, Encyclopedia of Sports Memorabilia, and USA Basketball, among others.

Mr. Solomowitz has also written and directed for the theater. His works include four one-act plays produced for the Northport One-Act Play Festival on Long Island and one at Night Flight Theater in Burbank, CA.

Proud of his fundraising efforts, he’s written several productions for the City of Hope in Los Angeles, CA, and Kehillath Shalom Synagogue in Cold Spring Harbor, NY., where he also produced children’s theater. He’s a Playwrights Lab member of the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

While he and his beautiful wife, Kathy, have enjoyed the Cape for many years, they retired and moved to East Sandwich in March, 2020, taking their Shih Tzu mix, Jackson, with them.
