Rolla Donaghy
Author Rolla Donaghy.
Growing up in Canada, Rolla Donaghy married into a Boston family, and became a long-term resident of the Cape. An advocate of early intervention with a graduate degree in education, she specialized in learning and reading delays.
After providing professional diagnostics in Toronto, Boston and Honolulu, she began writing for children and teens, stories designed to be both humorous and age-appropriate.
A three-book series for beginning readers (pre-K to Grade 3) introduces Henry and Henrietta Hooper, twin mice, ending with The Picnic at Squirrel Park. Visual artist Angela Amato created illustrations with vibrant coloration and detail to encourage word-image matching and awareness of the environment. A Cape Cod true nature story recounts children going to check lobster traps. Middle Grade girls analyze peers and family, while in a teen mystery, an ambitious college student tries to sell his grandfather’s Adirondack farm, in his spare time.
Every day goes better with a good book!
