MEMBERS ONLY 

In this session, author and writing instructor Jennifer Crystal will discuss craft techniques that make nonfiction come alive. From creating a strong hook to employing all five senses, you will learn specific tips for showing rather than telling and for moving the personal to the universal. After an introductory lecture, you will have the opportunity to practice your new skills through writing prompts and deepen the discussion with a Q and A session.

 

Jennifer Crystal 

Jennifer Crystal, MFA is a Boston-based writer, educator and coach who specializes in nonfiction projects including personal essay, op-ed, and memoir. She runs the Writing to Heal Immersive Program at Grub Street Creative Writing Center. Her work has appeared in local and national publications, and her memoir One Tick Stopped the Clock is forthcoming from Legacy Book Press.
