Personal essays are more than blog posts or journal entries. Your first-person words need to provoke emotion and resonate with readers. Kristin Owens will discuss  personal essays and what makes them memorable. She’ll cover great openings, expressing vulnerability, and the importance of applicability. Interested in publishing your work? She’ll review that too. An interactive Q&A will help answer questions and motivate you to get writing!

Kristin Owens, Ph.D. is an award-winning educator and writer. She’s published over 100 articles and essays, and is a frequent blog contributor on writing. Her high-energy presentations and classes motivate writers to stick with it. Kristin’s work is included in the 2020 Colorado Book of the Year, RISE! She’s represented by literary agent Madelyn Burt at Stonesong NYC and Peel Talent Agency in the UK.
