Welcome to the Cape Cod Writers Center website!

Member or visitor, welcome to the CCWC website!

The Cape Cod Writers Center has been assisting published and aspiring writers of all genres, abilities, and ages for over half a century. CCWC welcomes your participation in this grand tradition.

The CCWC website is dynamic, designed to be an up-to-date place to find information about the Cape Cod Writers Center. Some parts of the site are only available to members. The best way to learn about the website is to poke around to all the various points of information.

Most text that is blue is clickable and will take you to more information.


Home

On the Home page, there is a line of dropdown menus across the top, three large call-to-action buttons in the middle, Looking for More? below that with four call-to-action buttons, and three changing Featured Patrons along the bottom.


About

Clicking on the Mission & History selection on the ‘About’ dropdown menu, you can find the description of the mission and remarkable, extensive history of the organization. Along the right side of this screen are the other selections from the ‘About’ dropdown menu. Below that is the image of a member’s publication. If you click on the title under the publication image, you are connected to that member’s description page. These publication displays will change every time you visit the page which provides promotion of member authors.


Calendar

The Calendar page can be seen either as the description of individual events or in the calendar mode where you can see what’s happening month-to-month.


Connect

Under the Connect menu, you will find connections to the members, the Speaker’s Bureau with a listing of members who offer their services as professional speakers, Writers’ Resources, Publications, and News.

Writer Resources

Includes a section on Agents and Editors which is limited to member-only viewing. It also includes a list of writing related books and magazines. And there is a list of Other Writer Organizations and Events which you may find useful. (If you have suggestions for additions to these resources, please let us know.

Recent Publications

Members can list their books and publications to be included. Members can list up to five separate publications labelled as: Latest, Recent, Other, Additional, and Also By. The publication in the Latest slot will be the one included on the Recent Publications page and highlighted on various pages of the website.

News

On the News page, you will find a summary of the Programs, Awards, Member News, Member Praise, CCWC Community Relations, and In Memoriam. Clicking on any of the highlighted descriptions will take you to further information.


Programs

Note that when you sign up for an event, the notification you receive will include a QR code which can be scanned either from a printed receipt or on your mobile device to check you in.

Writers Night Out

Writers Night Out are monthly CCWC events that are either in-person or online. It’s a chance for writers to learn, network, and socialize. Under each event listed there is ‘Show details’ link for more information.  And to the left of the image there is a ‘Register’ button to sign up for the event.

There is also a list of Past events that will take you to the description of past WNO events.

Writer Groups

Writing groups are individually formed and regulated. CCWC tries to initiate new groups by combining applicants by interest and location. The group itself decides on when, where, and how often members will meet. They also decide on how they will function. Contact CCWC to apply for a convenient group.

Books and the World, Pathways to Publication, and Young Writers Workshop

These are all special programs.

Member News

When members have special news to share, this is where you’ll find it. Clicking on any of the links will provide more information and, in some cases, pictures or other follow up information.


Conference, Membership, Contact

These tabs will open up to the appropriate information.

The Conference information will be updated as appropriate to the year. Membership provides information about the advantages to being a member of the organization. And Contact provides a bunch of ways you can contact the organization.


For Members

This is where you will find all the information about membership. This is where members can manage their profiles, change their passwords, select their privacy settings, add their own photo albums, and check on their event registrations, invoices and payments, and any donations they might have so generously made to the organization.

You have to be a member to have access to these settings.

Privacy

This is where a member can control what elements are shown in member directories, forum, and blog posts. By clicking on the ‘Edit profile’ button, a member can select how each element on their profile can be seen by Anybody, Members, or No access. Just click on the Edit profile button and then click on the Radio button under each element.

Member Forum

This is where members can discuss various topics related to writing.
