I don't use any platforms other than Microsoft Word in it's most basic form. While I hear good things about some of the platforms and advances in writing aids, researching and trying them out is time I'm not willing to take away from my writing. Even though it might pay off in the long run. I guess I'm stuck in fear-of-change mode when it comes to adjusting the way I've always worked.
My favorite platform is Scrivener. It is an exceptionally powerful platform for writers. It works best on Macs. Once I get through creating on Scrivener, I compile it to a Word document, and then use Vellum to make it print ready.
