Rocks Through My Window by Jeannie Coco successfully traversed the shores of Cape Cod over the summer and now her compass turns to the north. A state-wide fall foliage book tour through Burlington and Williston, Vermont will have its kick-off launch at the Rutland Free Library on Monday, October 20 at 7:00. YA writer K.R. Conway was named Writer in Residence for Sturgis West this year and will be the keynote speaker at their Coffee House Night on October 24th. She will be signing books at Titcomb’s in Sandwich on October 16th at 5pm, and teaching a free writing class at Barnes and Noble in Hyannis on October 18th from 2-4pm. Marsha Therese Danzig, author of the spiritual memoir Fierce Joy, will take part in a reading at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 9. Also participating in the reading will be poets Marry Ellen Redmond, Alice Kociemba, and Mary Kane.
Marguerite Dennis will be speaking on her book, The New College Guide: How to Get In, Get Out, and Get a Job, at the Sturgis Library in Barnstable on October 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Titcomb’s Bookstore in Sandwich on November 1from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
Margaret Horgan Desjardins is happy to announce the publication of her new book, The Haunting of Swallow Cave, a story of how four middle grade teens solve a centuries old mystery. Click here for more information: http://thehauntingofswallowcave.blogspot.com/.
Ed Ianuccilli will be presenting “Good Times and Sunday Dinners” on Monday, November 3rd at 7 Pm at The Weaver Library in East Providence, RI. He speaks of immigration, Sunday dinners, neighborhood and family. Free. Includes a fun slide show.
Arlene Kay has a busy schedule of events in concert with the release of her latest novel, Gilt Trip: Oct. 9 (7 PM) Arlene will join 3 other Sisters in Crime Authors on a panel at the Wilmington Library on “What inspires your mystery plots?”; Oct. 11 she will join her Sisters-in-Crime at Concord, MA. as they step into the past with “History, Mystery, and Crime”; Oct. 19 she will sign copies of the Swann Series at the New England Library Association gathering in Boxford, MA; and Oct. 25th (11-12 noon) she will join Sisters-in-Crime (NE) at a panel sponsored by the Boston Book Festival, followed by a book signing.

Nancy Nicol’s “Abattoir” is part of an ultra-short memoir project anthology titled Reflections, published by Telling Our Stories Press November, 2014. Her essay on “The Art of Downsizing” appears in the Fall issue of Cape Women On-line Magazine.
ElsBeth and the Call of the Castle Ghosties, Book III in the Cape Cod Witch Series, by J Bean Palmer and Chris Palmer, received the Bronze Medal in the 2014 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, Pre-Teen Fiction category for eBooks (also available now in paperback). Moonbeam is a national book awards contest for independent and major publishers, with more than 1,200 entries this year and medalists last year from thirty-five states, five Canadian provinces and seven countries overseas.
Marianne Shafer has signed a contract with Writer’s Digest Magazine to have an entry of hers appear in the January 2015 issue. Their “Reject a Hit” section features a humorous rejection of a classic by a fictitious editor, and Marianne chose to be editor Shubael Fledgeby rejecting Charles Dickens’ work, Our Mutual Friend.
Maxim D. Shrayer is pleased to report that the South Chatham Writers’ Workshop will offer two summer intensive workshops in 2015: July 13-17 (Intermediate Nonfiction) and July 20-24 (Advanced Nonfiction). Please visit their newly launched website: www.shrayer.com/scww.
The Haunting of Cape Cod and the Islands by Barbara Sillery has a new release by Pelican Publishing. Barbara has book signings in October at Yellow Umbrella Books in Chatham, Titcomb’s in Sandwich; Brewster Bookstore, Market St. Bookstore in Mashpee, and Barnes & Noble at the Hyannis Mall. CCWC member and SIEGE drummer/lyricist Robert R. Williams will give a reading from his stories and lyrics for the Red Poets Society at their ‘Sword and the Pen’ event on Friday, October 24th at 8:00 pm at 550 Mass Ave, Central Square, Cambridge. The event is free and open to the public and will be filmed – contact commanduscripts@gmail.com for more details.
