Children and adults need opportunities to explore complicated family dynamics in the fiction they read. In Marcella Pixley’s hands-on presentation, she will discuss how to write three-dimensional scenes that contain family conflict, unspoken tension, and psychological immediacy. We will read a short excerpt from TROWBRIDGE as a mentor text, and then participate in an exercise to help us access our own memories and experiences.
