Take a deep dive and investigate a powerful moment in a story. A moment of significance, reflection, emotion. No matter the genre—fiction, poetry, journalism, nonfiction—it’s the moments within a scene or memory that can create a lasting impact.
An interactive presentation, this workshop will begin with a brief lecture and sample reading, followed by time for participants to write. Depending on group size, students will have the opportunity to read their work followed by roundtable discussion. Participants should arrive with a story they want to explore. You will be guided to identify a singular moment within and learn techniques to flush out the story and capture it on the page.
